Eligibility Criteria for Harvard Radcliffe Institute Fellowship

General Requirements
- Applicants from any country are eligible
- Must demonstrate outstanding accomplishments
- Strong independent research and writing skills required
- Practitioners should have senior leadership experience in non-profits, government or private sectors
- Practitioners must have at least ten years of relevant experience
- Former Harvard fellows are not eligible
Eligibility Requirements by Discipline
Humanities and Social Sciences
Applicants must:
- Hold a doctorate related to the proposed project
- Have completed the degree at least two years before appointment
- Have published either one monograph or at least two peer-reviewed journal articles
Science, Engineering and Mathematics
Applicants must:
- Hold a doctorate in the proposed research field
- Have completed the degree at least two years before appointment
- Have published at least five peer-reviewed journal articles
Creative Arts
Film and Video
- Strong professional achievements in films, television broadcasts or video festivals required
Visual Arts
- Minimum five years of professional artistic experience
- Participation in curated group exhibitions
- Participation in professional solo exhibitions
Fiction and Non-Fiction
Applicants must meet one of the following:
- Published one or more books
- Secured a manuscript publication contract
- Published at least three substantial written works
Journalism
- Minimum five years of relevant professional experience required
Poetry
- Published at least 20 poems within the previous five years or published a poetry book
- Must currently be completing a manuscript
Playwriting
- Strong independent work achievements such as produced plays required
Music Composition
- PhD or DMA preferred but not mandatory
- Must demonstrate recent professional performance achievements
