Overview of the National Industry PhD Program 2026
- Two streams available: Industry Linked PhD and Industry Researcher PhD.
- Hands-on industry experience through project embedding.

- Top-up scholarship support: $7,135 per year from the Australian Government + $10,000 per year from the industry partner.
- Program duration: Full-time (3–4 years) or part-time (6–8 years).

1. Industry Linked PhD Stream
This stream is designed for outstanding PhD candidates seeking research projects co-designed by universities and industry. Candidates in this stream:

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the program, candidates must:
- Be domestic or international PhD candidates.
- Be enrolled full-time or part-time at a participating university.
- Hold an Australian Government RTP Stipend or an equivalent scholarship for the duration of their Industry PhD candidature.
- Current PhD candidates must have been enrolled at UQ from 1 April 2025 onwards.
